Curran Stikuts is a progressive community leader running for City Council in Toronto Centre, where he lives and has worked for nearly two decades.
Curran has spent his career working on the issues that shape daily life in Toronto Centre, including housing, public health, community safety, public space and queer advocacy. He began his career in the Downtown East working in cooperative housing, later moved into community health, and went on to spend a decade at The 519 Community Centre.
At The 519, Curran held senior leadership roles overseeing advocacy, community engagement, philanthropy, legal services and stakeholder relations. He developed community programs, built partnerships with residents and organizations, and worked with all levels of government to secure funding and advance policy change.
Curran has raised more than $12 million for 2SLGBTQIA+ and Toronto Centre initiatives supporting housing, youth, seniors, food security, violence intervention and public-space activation. He has also served on nonprofit boards and City advisory tables focused on public health, social policy and community safety.
He is running to bring practical, progressive and responsive leadership to City Hall.
