Should Toronto permit substantially more housing as-of-right in every ward, including areas currently dominated by detached and semi-detached homes?

Born and raised in Toronto with a diverse familial and community background, I have been exposed to various world views and lived experiences which I have been able to apply to various stages of my life. With a first career in Hospitality and Tourism, I have visited Globally powerful and unique cities around the world from both perspectives as a visitor and a worker. Our city still has a long way to go, but we can learn from other locations on where and how we can improve. Although much of my adult life consisted of working outside of the city, I have also spent many years in Toronto Centre- from corporate retirement plans and mutual funds, to a sports coach, entrepreneur, and a youth community worker. My latest career started with an education in Assaulted Women's and Children's Councilor/Advocate, which is a deeply fundamental program which had opened my eyes to the systemic laws and policies which cause oppression to the most vulnerable of our neighbours. As a current student of Disability Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University, I am connected to the passionate youth of the community who are ready for societal changes which will make their worlds a safer and thriving place. My current work at a drop-in informs many of the following responses.
Our questionnaire

This is a more complicated issue than presented. There is a risk that what the institution perceives as accessible and safe, may not be the reality of the person. If the person leaves their encampment, they may not be able to take all of their belongings. If they return, they start from scratch.
I do like the ideas proposed by Jamie McDonald on October 7, 2025, with the ability to keep in mind the equity that ensures that mobility is possible including vulnerable people within the city.
I was unable to quickly find the adjacent Memo on this proposal, and therefore am not able to comment on this proposal. I do believe that we need to prioritize infrastructure repair when it involves safety concerns, and the potentials of finding alternative funding opportunities.
At the time of this survey, I feel that transparency and trust in government contracts are more important than ever. However, there are also nuances to finances that may not be understandable to the general public, so I would be on board with a committee of oversight.
As long as this is not forced institutionalization, or assumptive practices.
I do not support Flock cameras. We can wait and learn from other cities how they deal with the misuse of the information that the cameras provide.
Both Maintenance and expansion, especially for remote routes with little access to transit.
Both Passenger Capacity and Essential Access for emergencies, accessibility, and even deliveries. This is the current standard on my route especially during rush hour, and would research if this applies to the wider city.
This is a very large and complicated issue that is beyond the character max. What does affordable housing mean when a large amount of the populations cannot afford this designation at its current iteration?
I would also include industry oversight and regulations.
These would require further research before I could make a definitive statement. I do not necessarily agree with lower charges, especially in the time of these tariffs.
This depends on the service.
The city must remain a democracy, while also acknowledging polycrisis.
